Biography

Honours BA in Social Sciences at Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM), specialized in Social Anthropology and Sociology of Latin America. In addition, he holds a Master Degree in International Cooperation for Development (UCM) and the Oxford Advanced Management and Leadership Program (Oxford University).

He has worked for more than 15 years in the field of International Cooperation for Development, occupying positions such as Oxfam Country Director in Democratic Republic of Congo and South Sudan, Oxfam Great Britain Country Director in South Africa, as well as Advocacy & Campaigns Advisor. He previously worked at ActionAid and, throughout this time, he has made short term deployments in Nigeria, Venezuela, Chad, The Gambia and El Salvador.

Currently, he is Emergency Response Director at the Norwegian Refugee Council. He is also a United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) resident representative and a member of the UN Secretariat Senior Humanitarian Affairs Officer.

Areas of interest: Humanitarian aid, development, peace and conflict.

African countries where he has lived and/or worked: Mozambique, Chad, Gambia, South Africa, South Sudan, Democratic Republic of Congo, Burkina Faso and Niger.
